Stephen McCray


Dr. Stephen (Steve) McCray is an executive coach, equity consultant, author, and keynote speaker working with business, school, and non-profit leaders and change agents to achieve their equity mission of creating vibrant, inclusive communities. For over thirty years, Steve has served as a bilingual teacher, an administrator in the public schools, a lecturer for the School of Education at California State University and field consultant for School Support Services of the California Department of Education. He was named by Teacher Magazine as “one of the fifty best minds in education.” Steve also served on the Consent Decree Monitoring Team for Equity and the California Schools Recognition Team for the California Department of Education, as well as on governing boards of multiple charter schools and non-profit organizations. An anti-racism educator and consultant, Steve  received his Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy Studies at University of California, Los Angeles’ Center X, and earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership for Social Justice at Loyola Marymount University. Steve also holds certificates from the Harvard Kennedy School in Public Leadership and Columbia University’s Teachers College in Coaching.
